Journal Overview
Asia Journal of Social Innovation & Development (AJSID) is an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Asian Institute for Social Innovation (California, USA). The journal focuses on social innovation, public policy, economic governance, digital technology, business and organizational innovation, and sustainable development in Asian and global contexts.
AJSID is published quarterly, combining digital open access with print editions. Research manuscripts are, in principle, subject to double-blind peer review; interviews, editorials, and opinion pieces undergo editorial review and are clearly labeled by article type upon publication. Published academic articles that meet the registration criteria are assigned a DOI, subject to the final publication information.
Editorial Principle
- Academic quality first: a topic that falls within the journal’s scope does not guarantee acceptance.
- Independent review: authorship, affiliations, fee payments, or editorial services do not influence review decisions.
- Asian experience, international expression: research grounded in Asian practice and capable of entering international academic discourse is encouraged.
1. Core Sections & Topic Scope

Required Manuscript Structure
- Title: Accurate and concise, reflecting the core research question.
- Abstract: 150–250 words, describing the research purpose, methods, key findings, and contributions.
- Keywords: less than keywords, avoiding exact repetition of the title.
- Main Text: Research articles typically include an introduction, literature review, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion; case or policy studies may adjust the structure but must address the problem, evidence, analysis, and implications.
- References: List only sources actually cited in the text and ensure every reference is verifiable.
References, Figures & Data
- References should uniformly follow the ACS format; authors in special disciplines who need to use other formats should confirm with the editorial office before submission.
- Figures and tables should be numbered in order of appearance, with titles, units, data sources, and necessary notes; images are recommended to be at least 300 dpi.
- When using third-party images, scales, data, or extended text, authors must obtain the required permissions and provide proof.
- The editorial office may request verifiable data, code documentation, interview materials, or analysis processes from authors; restrictions should be explained where confidential information is involved.
4. Originality, Ethics & AI Policy
Originality & Exclusive Submission
- Manuscripts must be original works that have not been formally published in the same or substantially similar form and must not be submitted to other journals simultaneously.
- If conference papers, working papers, or preprints are related to the submitted manuscript, authors must proactively disclose the existing versions and major revisions.
- The editorial office will screen for academic misconduct; plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, fabricated citations, or improper authorship will lead to rejection and may be handled under publication ethics procedures.
Authorship, Conflicts & Research Ethics
- All named authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and agree to the submission and the final version; gift authorship and ghostwriting are not accepted.
- Authors must disclose funding, commercial, employment, consulting, or other relationships that could influence research judgment.
- For research involving human participants, medical and health data, minors, sensitive interviews, or other regulated research, authors should describe the ethical approval, informed consent, and privacy protection arrangements.
Generative AI Use
- AI tools must not be listed as authors. Authors bear full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, authenticity of citations, data security, and all conclusions of the manuscript.
- If generative AI is used to assist with translation, language polishing, material organization, coding, analysis, or image generation, the tools used, their purposes, and the methods of human verification should be described in the manuscript.
- AI must not be used to fabricate data, interviewees, references, citations, images, or research processes; materials containing confidential, personal, or unpublished research information must not be uploaded to uncontrolled platforms.
Statement of academic independence: sponsorship, collaboration, translation and polishing services, publication fees, academic affiliations, or other commercial arrangements must not influence editorial judgment, peer review, or acceptance decisions.
5. Review & Publication
- Initial check (scope and format): verifies the completeness of materials, topic fit, originality, and basic academic quality; usually takes 5–10 business days.
- Peer review: research manuscripts that pass the initial check enter double-blind review, which usually takes 1–2 weeks; the exact timeline depends on the discipline, reviewer availability, and the number of revision rounds.
- Revision and decision: review decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision with re-review, or rejection. Authors should respond to each comment point by point and indicate where changes were made.
- Editorial production and proofs: after acceptance, the manuscript undergoes language, formatting, metadata, and publication-standard checks; authors must confirm the proofs within the specified timeframe.
- Publication online and in print: the journal is, in principle, published in March, June, September, and December. Article scheduling is subject to the final editorial plan.
- Important note: AJSID does not offer an "expedited track" designed to guarantee acceptance. All review timelines are general estimates and do not constitute fixed deadlines. Official acceptance notices are issued only after the editorial decision has been made.
6. Fees, Editorial Services & Publication
- Any fees involved in submission, review, or publication are subject to the AJSID official website or the written notice issued by the editorial office before the formal process begins.
- Translation, language polishing, figure organization, or case study support are independent, voluntarily chosen services; they do not constitute a condition for acceptance and do not guarantee passing peer review.
- The copyright license, open access arrangements, and authors’ rights for formally published articles are governed by the publication agreement confirmed by the authors.
- A DOI is a digital object identifier and does not equate to indexing in Scopus, Web of Science, or other databases.
- The journal makes no commitments regarding database indexing, citation counts, professional title recognition, degree evaluation, immigration applications, commercial financing, or other third-party outcomes.
